Dark Clouds Loom as Potential Tropical Cyclone One Approaches Florida Keys

Dark storm clouds loomed over Big Pine Key in south Florida on Friday, June 3, as a storm system currently known as Potential Tropical Cyclone One (PTC1) and forecast to become a Tropical Storm approached southern and central areas of the state.

The National Weather Service had warned on Friday of the potential for “major flooding,” coastal storm surges, high winds, and scattered tornadoes.

On Saturday morning, footage from the City of Miami showed roads under water and multiple vehicles partially submerged. Credit: Julia Staggs via Storyful
