A dark mass of cloud swirled above Calgary, Alberta, on July 23, prompting a tornado warning from Environment Canada.

A severe thunderstorm swept the area and Environment Canada issued tornado warning for the Calgary and Rocky View areas following multiple sightings of a possible tornado.

Authorities investigated the event, calling on the public to submit further reports.
