This year, we're swooning for the latest animal to take over home decor pieces ranging from plant vases to wall prints: The toucan. On popular online store, Etsy, animal-accented items are on the rise. "We first saw sloths gaining in popularity, but now everything from jungle cats to toucans are having a moment," Etsy Trend Expert, Dayna Isom Johnson shared with Southern Living. "From spotted prints to full-on figures, the animal kingdom is taking over our living spaces in the forms of throw pillows, statement wall hangings, accented catch-me-alls, and more."
How popular are these birds with colorful bills? According to Etsy, there have been over 33,000 searches on Etsy for toucan items in the last six months. If toucans aren't your thing, some other animals are also gaining popularity on the home decor front. Etsy reports over 1.2 million searches on Etsy for tiger items in the last six months; 810,000 searches on Etsy for flamingo items in the last six months, and 768,000 searches on Etsy for leopard items in the last six months.
