New dashboard helps families sit together in flight without fees

There’s a new tool to help families stay together when they fly.

If you’re a parent and you want to sit with your kids, you likely know those extra fees can add up. Now, there’s a new way to know which airlines don’t charge you extra for that.

American Airlines, which has a hub in Charlotte, is one of those airlines.

Kristen Lance flew with her child when she moved to the Charlotte area just a year ago. She said this shouldn’t be an issue for families or for any other passengers.

“Definitely, they shouldn’t even be charging you to pick your own seat,” she said.
