Date Set For Longhorn Steakhouse Opening In Southington

SOUTHINGTON, CT — The opening of the new LongHorn Steakhouse on West Street is scheduled to open on Feb. 23.

An announcement was made recently for the 1020 West St. location. It was initially slated to open last spring, but the coronavirus pandemic slowed the process, officials said.

The capacity is listed at 274 patrons, trimmed to 137 under coronavirus restrictions.

Plans for the new restaurant cleared local regulatory hurdles in the spring of 1990 and construction began in January 2020.

Longhorn has more than 480 restaurants in 40 states. Its parent company, Darden Restaurants, owns and operates more than 1,500 restaurants that generate a reported $6.3 billion-plus in annual sales.

Longhorn is also known for its charitable contributions and restaurants have donated nearly 15 million pounds of food to local non-profit organizations across the country.
