Dauphin County furniture store closing after 50+ years in business

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — A local furniture and mattress store will soon be closing its doors after being in business for a little over 50 years.

Eddies Furniture & Mattress store, located at 200 South Cameron Street in Harrisburg, recently announced its upcoming closure. The long time business started off with a store in York County before moving to the city; they have now been open for 52 years.

According to an employee of the store, the upcoming closure is due to the owner Eddie’s retirement.

Currently, the 20,000-square-foot showroom in Harrisburg is offering huge closing sales for customers to enjoy, according to a November Facebook post. The store offers a wide variety of bedroom furniture, living room furniture, and more!

Ahead of its upcoming closure, the store’s hours of operation will be:

  • Mondays – Fridays // 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

  • Saturdays // 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Sundays // 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

It is important to note that Eddie’s Men’s Store, located down the road at 212 South Cameron Street will remain open.
