Amazon Studios has announced that its 2020 film “My Spy” will be receiving a sequel.

The streaming giant recently confirmed that “My Spy: The Eternal City” will feature the return of Dave Bautista, Ken Jeong, Chloe Coleman, Kristen Schaal and director Peter Segal, who has previously worked on hit films such as “Get Smart” and “50 First Dates.”

In the franchise’s first film, which premiered on June 26, 2020, CIA agent JJ, played by Bautista, is sent on an undercover mission to watch the family of a young girl named Sophie, played by Coleman.

The sequel takes place several years later and has JJ chaperoning Sophie’s school trip to Italy. Chaos ensues as the two find themselves caught up in a terrorist plot involving Sophie’s best friend, Collin, and Collin’s father, CIA Chief David Kim.

Joining the returning cast for the sequel are comedic talents Anna Faris, Craig Robinson and Flula Borg.

“I’m incredibly excited to have our team reassemble for the next chapter of our story,” Segal told Deadline. “Having Anna, Craig, and Flula join our amazing cast is like a kiss from the comedy Gods.”

Production starts this month, but the movie's release date has yet to be announced.
