A Dave & Buster’s entertainment venue is coming to this Gulf Coast city next year

Dave & Buster’s restaurant and entertainment venue has locations in New Orleans, Panama City Beach and Birmingham, and now one is coming to Mobile.

The company confirmed to Lagniappe that it plans to open a Dave & Busters in December 2024.

It will be at 1757 East I-65 Service Road South, which is just north of the I-10 and I-65 intersection. That location puts it in the same area as Topgolf, which is under construction across Government Boulevard from this new dining and entertainment venue.

The first Dave & Buster’s opened in Dallas in 1982, when Buster’s restaurant and Dave’s entertainment place joined forces to open under one roof.

The chain now has 140 locations, although none yet in Mississippi.

The menu is designed for fun, with starters like garlic Parmesan truffle fries and loaded queso. Wings come with Nashville hot and other sauces or dry rubs, and the menu also has burgers, salads, wraps, steaks and imaginative drinks like strawberry watermelon Margaritas.

Food and games go together at Dave & Busters, where customers can watch their game on huge televisions equipped with stadium sound. Each place has virtual reality games, arcade games, tabletop games, air hockey, ping pong, billiards, with the whole experienced “designed to help you un-learn adulthood and focus on what really matters: hanging with your friends,” according to the website.

For South Mississippi, construction crews are beginning to create a combination restaurant and entertainment venue at the site of the former Margaritaville Casino in Biloxi. It won’t have a casino.

Harry Mohney, owner of Dick’s Last Resort restaurants and Cat’s Meow karaoke bars in New Orleans, The Wharf at Orange Beach, at Las Vegas, Nashville, the Smoky Mountains and many of the top resort areas in the country, will bring his concept to Fifth Street in East Biloxi.

It will have two restaurant, bars and entertainment such as boxing events, karaoke and ax throwing in the 68,000 square foot building that also boasts a waterfront patio.
