Progress continues toward making an Augusta local Dave & Buster's a reality.

On Wednesday, the company posted 14 job openings to staff the restaurant/arcade's Augusta-area population. The company is hiring food servers and receivers, line cooks, hosts, dishwashers, bartenders, customer service, deposits staff, support technicians, game technicians and janitorial maintenance. All of the jobs are hourly. It's unclear how many positions of each job are available.

According to ZipRecruiter, Dave & Buster's Georgia employees make, on average, approximately $18 per hour.

The Augusta location is being built in the Riverwatch area off I-20, across the street from Guitar Center and west of Costco. The single-story, 34-foot-tall building has been constructed. However, as of Thursday development continues on the terrain outside the building and no signage has been posted.

No information is available on the interior's progress.

Once completed, the business will offer 9,600 square feet of arcade gaming alongside two dining areas: one that can serve up to 106 bar patrons and the other servicing up to 172 customers enjoying burgers, pastas, salads and more.

Ground broke for the project on August 30, 2021, after the Augusta Planning Commission approved the project in February 3, 2020. The roadblock was largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The company had reported a 70% drop in sales for the fourth quarter of 2020 as opposed to that same period in 2019. In it's third quarter last year, Dave & Buster's reported revenues had jumped by almost 200% compared to the pandemic's third quarter and up by 6.2% compared to 2019's third quarter.

The company's vice president of brand marketing Pete Thornfield said last fall that they are hoping to be ready to open by the middle of this year. The Augusta Chronicle has made multiple phone calls and emails to Dave & Buster's requested more updated information. Neither the company nor its developers at ResCon Group responded to requests for comment on Thursday.
