ATLANTIC CITY – Dave & Buster's, the chain of entertainment-and-dining venues, is preparing to open a new location here.

The Atlantic City location is expected to open Nov. 20 at the Tanger Outlets complex, a company representative said Wednesday. The firm previously had identified an Oct. 16 opening date.

It will include "a state-of-the-art D&B Sports Bar with a 40-foot WOW wall of high-definition screens," said the representative, Joy Puder.

She said the video wall will offer "an unparalleled stadium-like viewing experience."

The store will be located at 2120 Atlantic Avenue, according to a permit application before the state Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

The address matches the former home of the 40/40 Club, a sports bar and lounge run by entertainment mogul Jay-Z. It operated at Tanger Outlets from 2005 to 2012.

Tanger Outlets holds more than 80 tenants at a 488,000-square-foot, open-air shopping center in the heart of Atlantic City.

The Atlantic Avenue address is on a block of vacant storefronts between Arkansas and Missouri avenues that formerly held a Melting Pot and Ruby Tuesday restaurants.

Dave & Buster’s offers bowling, laser tag, arcade games and other attractions, according to the company’s website.

It also gets an increasing amount of revenue from food and beverage sales - 36.1 percent in the latest quarter.

Dave & Buster's in growth mode

The Texas-based firm, which also operates the Main Event chain, plans to open 11 Dave & Buster’s stores in the current fiscal year, CEO Chris Morris said in a recent conference call with investment analysts.

“We will continue to grow the business,” said Morris, who did not disclose the sites of future openings.

The firm, which added eight sites last year, currently has 207 stores for both brands.

It currently has one South Jersey outlet at Gloucester Premium Outlets in Blackwood, as well as two stores in Philadelphia and a third in Plymouth Meeting, Montgomery County.

Dave & Buster’s reported revenue of $2 billion in its last fiscal year, a 50.6 percent increase helped by diminished concerns over COVID-19.

It posted annual net income of $137.1 million, up from $108.6 million in the previous year.
