LOS ANGELES, California (WJW) – Foo Fighters singer and Northeast Ohio native Dave Grohl reminded everyone this week why he is beloved among fans.

While celebrities were packing into suites at the Super Bowl, Grohl was spending his time cooking barbecue for unhoused people in Los Angeles.

Sunday, he cooked up 100 pork butts, which Hope the Mission said is Grohl’s personal record.

“There goes our hero! #davegrohl did it again, pulled a 24+ hour shift with the Backbeat Barbecue team to provide meals for our participants,” the Mission wrote on social media.

That’s right – the rock star worked through the night to get the food ready…a 28-hour shift.

Photos and video show Grohl prepping the food, smoking it and later serving it up.

One of the ‘best hotel lobbies in the world’ is in Northeast Ohio

More than 3,000 people got a plate of pork sandwiches, coleslaw, collard greens and peach cobbler. Yum!

If this story sounds familiar, it’s because he’s done it before!

The same time last year, he brought his smokers to the Hope the Mission parking lot to feed the people who live there.
