RICHMOND, Ind. — Dave Rodgers and Robin Henry are the Wayne County Foundation's (WCF) 2022 recipients of the Charles A. Rodefeld and Ruth J. Wickemeyer Awards, according to a WCF release.

“The foundation is honored to add Dave and Robin to a long list of deserving award winners,” WCF Executive Director Rebecca Gilliam said in the release. “Wayne County is fortunate to have these wise, intelligent and generous philanthropists in our community.”

Rodgers is the winner of the Rodefeld Award for Leadership in Philanthropy and Community, named after a founding visionary of the WCF. This award recognizes philanthropic Wayne County citizens who "move quietly and steadily" to help meet community needs.

Rodgers has give to "countless" Wayne County nonprofit organizations, including the Richmond Symphony Orchestra and Girls Inc. He is a board member for the WCF and Richmond Symphony Orchestra, which nominated him for the award.

“Dave is extraordinary, constantly on the lookout for ways that he can be helpful and create change," Richmond Symphony Orchestra Executive Director Monica Koechlein said in the release. "He is remarkable. The impact he has made with his gifts of financial support and leadership on boards has served to build strong futures for our nonprofit community. I would even go so far as to say his impact is unequaled.”

Henry is the winner of the Wickemeyer Award for Nonprofit Excellence, named after the WCF's first executive director. This award recognizes a nonprofit leader who personifies "exceptional service to others in the name of community progress."

Henry has directly impacted "numerous" institutions and served for some of the most important and diverse organizations in Wayne County, the release states, including Every Child Can Read, the Indiana University East School of Business and Economics Council and the Richmond Art Museum, which nominated her for the award.

“I have personally been the beneficiary of this mentorship and knowledge that Robin is so readily eager to share," Richmond Art Museum Executive Director Shaun Dingwerth said in the release. "Throughout my 25 years at RAM, I have encountered few who are so willing to share their knowledge and help whenever possible. I know countless others in our community who have benefited from her advice, activism and willingness to share.”
