Davenport man faces child-pornography charges
A 30-year-old Davenport man is in custody after the Scott County Sheriff’s Office says his phone had images of child pornography, according to arrest affidavits.
Court records show Jean Brandt faces three felony charges of sexual exploitation of a minor – purchase or possess depiction of a minor in a sex act, first offense.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office received an Internet Crimes Against Children CyberTip that contained four images – two that were identical – of child pornography, all linked to the same cell phone number and email address. The offense was reported as happening in Davenport, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office alleges in affidavits.
“Brandt was found in possession of a cell phone with the same cell phone number and email address of the CyberTips,” affidavits say.
Brandt was detained based off a search warrant for his person, vehicle, residence and all electronics. He had a cell phone with the same cell phone number and email address of the CyberTips, according to affidavits.
“Brandt refused to answer questions related to this incident,” affidavits show.
He is being held on $5,000 bond in Scott County Jail.
