Davenport's Southeast Little League team advances at the Little League World Series
The Iowa team competing at the 2022 Little League Baseball World Series evaded elimination on Sunday afternoon with a 10-2 win over Utah at Howard J. Lamade Stadium in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
The Davenport Southeast Little League team, representing both Iowa and the United States' Midwest Region, scored 3 runs in the first inning and 5 more in the third to eliminate Utah's Snow Canyon Little League and advance in the U.S. bracket.
Iowa is now 2-1 overall. After an 8-7 loss to Indiana's Hagerstown Little League in the opening round, Davenport has won back-to-back elimination games — 6-3 over Washington's Bonney Lake Sumner Little League, then 10-2 over Snow Canyon.
When does Iowa's LLWS team play next?
Iowa plays again on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on ESPN. Iowa will play the loser of Monday night's matchup between Hawaii's Honolulu Little League (2-0) and Texas's Pearland Little League (1-0).
