David Davis, visionary writer and television producer, dies at 86

David Davis helped launch “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” “The Bob Newhart Show” and later earned an Emmy for “Taxi.” While developing “Rhoda” in 1974, he cast Julie Kavner, who would later become his wife and is best known as the voice of Marge Simpson on “The Simpsons.” Sunday TODAY’s Willie Geist remembers A Life Well Lived.
