It's well known that Justice League and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story had major changes during reshoots, thanks to lots of reporting and trailers that differ heavily from the final project.

And now David Harbour has revealed Black Widow had its final act massively overhauled too.

Speaking to the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Harbour said: "The interesting thing about Marvel, what's so great about them, is they rework stuff, even big productions.

"Black Widow, the entire third act was reworked as we were shooting, which was incredible. So they just want that freedom."

Black Widow introduced Harbour as Red Guardian, who will return in villain/anti-hero team-up movie Thunderbolts. Marvel is tight on spoilers, while the Hollywood strikes mean it's not currently being produced, but on the podcast which was recorded prior to the strike, he teased it a little bit.

"The script we have is really tight and really great and our director Jake thinks it's great but they just want the freedom, they don't wanna be stuck in the middle of a shoot and be having to go like, 'you know, we can't rewrite this,'" he said.

"I started working on it already and it's phenomenal, it's hard to talk about these projects because I sound like such a dumb idiot because all I say is, 'that's great, the script is great' but it's true!

"I'm blessed to work with the Duffers who write the greatest scripts on television and these Marvel writers who are writing these epic, incredible stories. They're letting the Red Guardian do stuff he's never done before, that relationship with Yelena, we get to go into that more. It's funny and satisfying in a real emotional way."
