Davie allows some parks, community pools to reopen with strict rules

The Town of Davie is opening certain parks and allowing residential community pools to be used, one of the only cities to do this in South Florida.

On Saturday, Davie announced 15 parks will open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting May 10. Restrooms will be open, but facility rentals, transactions at parks, youth and adult activities, sports programs, fitness and aquatic and activities at community centers are suspended.

Broward County safety restrictions will remains in place so visitors must wear face coverings, maintain at least six-feet distance from people and cannot gather in groups larger than 10.

Along with parks, residential communities can reopen their pools as long as they are used by residents of the apartment complex, condo plaza or other community area.

When it comes to pools, visitors must social distance and keep the deck and pool at no more than 50% capacity. Employees must also watch the pool area and sanitize all equipment, including chairs, rails and showers.

Shenandoah Park, 14601 SW 14th St.

Silver Lake Park, 5695 SW 52nd Ave.

Sunny Lake Bird Sanctuary, 5300 Griffin Rd.
