Davis High student-founded music program available to underserved kids worldwide

When the pandemic temporarily shut down his music program at Davis High School, student Kai Keltner got creative. "With [student] musicians having a lot of free time on their hands, people started gaining interest in starting a tutoring program," he said. Keltner started the American League of Tutoring Organizations, or ALTO, in late 2019. But interest in his project sparked nationwide once the COVID-19 outbreak hit the United States. "ALTO is an organization dedicated to helping high school students start music tutoring programs," Keltner said. "It doesn’t replace in-person rehearsal, but it does keep us stay motivated and play music during these difficult times." See more in the video above.
