Davos, the peace formula, and NATO's war with Russia

What does our work on Zelenskyy's peace formula mean in practical terms?

Every year, Davos becomes a major political center of the world for a few days. The most influential people in the world come there. This time, the American president was not there, nor was the Chinese leader, although there was a large Chinese delegation.

I have been to such events many times. I have seen not only the external but also the internal workings of this whole process. Frankly speaking, we overestimate the importance of the Davos Forum or some other major international forums because this is not a place to solve particular problems. There is no Davos government that can pass a resolution and say that starting tomorrow, you should do this. It is a place for meetings, a place for exchanging ideas, a place where you can hear some fascinating, innovative ideas that, if they land successfully on some business ground in a few years or even decades, will yield results.

All these things are crucial in a political sense

This year, artificial intelligence was intensively discussed. It is indeed a breakthrough. Some award-winning authors have already admitted that they write novels using artificial intelligence. We will go further and see what will happen there. It's a place for interesting reflections. Our Vice Prime Minister recently wrote an interesting column in Ukrayinska Pravda saying that the trend now will be not international trade, but production. We will have to think about how to be effective in this regard. There will likely be a slight tilt towards interesting new productions, not just trade, exchange of goods, and so on. It is possible. However, there is another political side of Davos. It is no less important than the economic one.

Ukraine has shown clearly and distinctly that all these talks about negotiations, about concessions, about Western pressure on Ukraine, about Ukraine being forgotten, are all fantasies. I think we all understand whose fantasies.

What does our work on Zelensky's peace formula mean? The formula is absolutely correct, but what does this mean in practical terms? It means that this year, God willing, there will be a peace summit where political leaders from many countries will gather - 80, 100, 120 of them. They will meet, adopt a suitable declaration, and reaffirm the principles written in the UN Charter. So what? We held the Crimean Platform several times and did it very well. Leaders gathered, said the right words, and signed the right declarations and appeals. Has Crimea been liberated? No, it hasn't. It has not been liberated for a simple reason: This center of global evil, Russia, will read all these appeals and be able to block them until forced to be unable to.

So, all these things are crucial in a political sense. They consolidate the world's political forces to express their position at least. The position is, in principle, correct and positive. But every formula for peace must be followed by a peace plan.

If we are talking about the correct thesis of restoring territorial integrity, then we must write a specific plan to support this thesis. This means that the United States will provide Ukraine with 150 F-16 aircraft in 2024, that Germany will give us 100 Taurus missiles, that Britain will provide us with 200 missiles with a range of 600 kilometers to suppress all points on Russian territory within this radius that are used for war against Ukraine, and so on. Then, we will have a realistic action plan.

For now, we are only formulating principles and principles and thinking that this will inspire someone to do something - well, it's a little bit different.

There was a speech by the British Minister of Defense, Grant Shapps. He said the "peace dividends" era is over, and the pre-war era is beginning. This has already been told by leaders of other countries and NATO leaders. Frankly, I don't see much logic here. They are saying that a war with Russia may begin in 5-8 years. The Estonian prime minister said that Europe has 3-5 years. Some NATO officials said that a war could start within 20 years. Well, let's stop at 5 years. But again, where is the logic here? Why should NATO prepare for a war with Russia if it is possible to give Ukraine a part of what NATO has (because we see that what is being given is 0.0001 of what can be used), and the Ukrainian army will break the back of the Russian military machine? So, there are more political factors here that are not reasonable.
