For the pickiest recipients, sometimes you just have to splurge. Take your gifting to the next level with luxe textures.

There are some individuals who are infuriatingly challenging to shop for. Maybe they have exceptional taste. Maybe they already own everything. Or maybe you don’t know them that well but need to knock their socks off anyway. Whatever the reason, trying to figure out what to give conjures the same terrible blend: panic, paralysis, paranoia, and fear.

But alas! It needn’t be so hard. When in search of an MIP (Majorly Impressive Present) while shopping at Saks Fifth Avenue, there are a few truths to keep in mind. First off, almost everyone loves beautiful, well-made things. And, second, a bit of strategic name-checking never hurts; we’re talking Gucci, Bulgari, Givenchy, Louboutin, of course.

Armed with that info, you really can’t go wrong—especially if you stick to modern versions of classic items: a stiletto-heeled ankle bootie with shimmering stripes or a chain-strap bag in python skin. Splurges, yes, but, as they say, it’s better to give than to receive. (And who knows? Perhaps they’ll give you something super-luxe, too.)
