Day of the Dead, the Mexican holiday that honors the dearly departed with lively displays, food and drink, arrives Tuesday but its rush of sugar skulls and festivities landed sooner.

There may not be many sacred Día de Muertos shrines in Palm Beach County, but there are spirited Day of the Dead parties promising to light up the town.

‘Bodega De Los Muertos’

Bodega, which often hosts themed parties at its locations in South Florida, will have a Day of the Dead bash at its downtown West Palm Beach restaurant.

This 8-month-old Mexican-inspired restaurant and tequila bar started its two-day Day of the Dead festivities Friday night. The free party at Bodega Taquería y Tequila continues tonight (Saturday) from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. with cocktail specials by Patrón and Grey Goose.

Revelers are invited to “don your deadliest attire and dance like your life depends on it” at the restaurant and bar, located in downtown West Palm Beach.

“This Halloweekend, we will pay our respects to the departed and toast to life everlasting in our completely transformed space, designed to be a fully immersive experience,” goes Bodega’s party announcement.

On the actual Día de Muertos holiday, Tuesday, Rocco’s Tacos rolls out a slate of food and drink deals for its all-locations celebration.

There are all-you-can-eat, Day of the Dead tacos ($27.99), $5 Mexican draft beer, $7 Margaritas and shots and $17 Margarita pitchers.

For the occasion, the bars at Rocco’s four Palm Beach County restaurants will be mixing special “Rosa Rita” cocktails (with Hornitos Plata Tequila and Bon Jovi’s Hampton Water Rosé, $14).

Add to that sample bites, live music and face painting and you’ve got a bash.

Calaveras’ two-city bash

Also on Tuesday, mariachi music will sweeten the Día de Muertos celebrations at the Calaveras Cantina restaurants in Jupiter and Boca Raton. Musicians from Mariachi de Mi Tierra play at both locations from 6 to 8 p.m. that night.

The Day of the Dead party follows tonight’s (Saturday) “Halloween Fiesta”, also at both locations. That party goes from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. and features a costume contest and live deejay show.
