For 'day of service' on MLK holiday, local organizations to host COVID-19 vaccine, test site

A COVID-19 pop-up vaccine and testing site will open Monday at Zion Episcopal Church in Rome.

The event is sponsored by the Rome NAACP, Upstate Family Health, Oneida County, Mohawk Valley Health Systems and The Center in Utica as part of a "day of service" on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

COVID-19 boosters, first shots and pediatric vaccines will be available, according to an announcement from the Rome NAACP. Walk-ins are welcome, but those interested can also call 315-271-7703 to confirm an appointment. COVID-19 testing will also be available for a limited number of people.

The Center's COVID-19 navigators and MVHS's nurse for cardiovascular education will also be available.
