After days of canceled trips, Block Island Ferry running again

The Block Island Ferry pulling into Galilee.

The Block Island Ferry is running again after several days of cancellations due to rough seas.

"Traditional Ferries are RUNNING!!!!!!" the company says on its website Wednesday morning. "High Speed Ferry departures are cancelled."

The scheduled has been adjusted and is running as follows:

  • Departing Pt. Judith at 7AM, 8:15AM, 9AM, 11AM, 12PM, 1PM, 3PM, 4PM, 5PM

  • Departing Block Island at 7AM, 9AM, 9:30AM, 11AM, 1PM, 1:30PM, 3PM, 5PM, 5:30PM.

The ferry had canceled trips since Saturday.

The National Weather Service has issued lifted its small craft advisory for Block Island Sound. Its forecast calls for 12 knot winds and seas of about 3 feet.
