BOYNE FALLS — Opponents know there’s a few players they need to watch out for within the Boyne City attacking lineup.

But, even knowing who to mark doesn’t make it much easier. Not when multiple could go off on any given night.

When the Boyne City girls’ soccer team met up with Ogemaw Heights in a rescheduled match at Boyne Mountain Monday, it was Elly Day’s turn to go off.

Not that she hasn’t done that already, though.

Day came through with her first hat-trick of the season against Ogemaw, scoring three goals in a 5-0 victory that kept the Ramblers undefeated.

Along with Day, Braydin Noble and Mackensy Wilson each added one goal. Noble also had one assist and Mira Hauger notched a pair of assists.

It brings the season total to six goals through six games for Day, while Noble has five and Wilson, four.

Maggie McHugh earned another shutout victory in net for the Ramblers, her third of the season.

It sets up an unbeaten showdown with Elk Rapids ahead on Thursday, April 27 when the Ramblers make the trip to the Elks.

Boyne City will head in at 6-0 and 4-0 within the Lake Michigan Conference and the Elks are currently 5-0-1 and 4-0 in the LMC.
