Dayspring Wesleyan Church collects over 1,700 shoeboxes for 2022 Operation Christmas Child

Kristen Redmond (right) said she packed a shoebox for the first time atop getting to help as a volunteer.
"I shopped for one of the boxes, and it was fun shopping for one of the kids just knowing you're helping people in need," she said.

Stacked like puzzle pieces, all the boxes of shoeboxes were loaded onto the truck in a two-day packing event. Many volunteers helped out Sunday night, and a smaller group finished the job Monday morning.

A pile of shoeboxes sat stacked in Dayspring Wesleyan Church, the official drop-off location for Marion, prior to being packed. A part of Samaritan Purse's Operation Christmas Child, the boxes will be sent all over the world to give Christmas presents to children overseas.
