Dayton Dragons to honor local veteran at Sunday’s game

The Dayton Dragons will honor a local veteran during Sunday’s game at 1:05 p.m. against the South Bend Cubs.

As part of the CareSource Veteran Salute Program, the Dragons will host United States Marine veteran Robert De Roziere.

During the game, Roziere’s story will be shared with the crowd at Day Air Ballpark, followed by a standing ovation.

Roziere, a Kettering native, served in the military for 31 years.

He was deployed with the 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade during Operation Desert Shield/Storm and served in Operation Enduring Freedom.

Roziere has been awarded the Legion of Merit presented by the President of the United States.
