Daytona International Speedway to allow fans to drive on track during Rolex 24 week

The 2022 motorsports season begins this weekend, and fans can once again be a part of it.

The NASCAR Foundation announced Friday that it will bring back the License to Drive event this Monday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Daytona International Speedway. The Speedway hosted a similar event last summer.

This time around, however, participants who pay $50 per vehicle will have the chance to drive their car for two laps around Daytona's 3.56-mile road course, experiencing what IMSA drivers did all weekend during the Roar Before the Rolex 24.

“We’re excited to bring back this fundraising event which has become a fan favorite” said Nichole Krieger, NASCAR Foundation Executive Director. “The support we received from the community last year during our first-ever License to Drive event at Daytona International Speedway was incredible and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back at The World Center of Racing.”
