DC man arrested in connection to 4 carjackings

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said its Carjacking Tasking Force arrested someone responsible for a number of carjackings that took place in the District in September, October, and November.

MPD said officers arrested Ricardo Tylib Washington, 32, of Southeast D.C. on Wednesday, Nov. 29. He faces the following charges related to the listed crimes which occurred on the accompanying dates, locations, and times:

  • Armed Carjacking, Sept. 27, 2023, intersection of Kalorama Road and Columbia Road NW, around 4:25 p.m.

  • Armed Carjacking, Sept. 27, 2023, intersection of intersection of I Street and 18th Street NE, around 7:40 p.m.

  • Unarmed Carjacking, Sept. 28, 2023, on Massachusetts Avenue, Northeast, around 3:30 p.m.

  • Armed Carjacking, Oct. 28, 2023, Massachusetts Avenue NE, around 9:45 p.m.

  • Unlawful Entry of a Motor Vehicle, Nov. 29, 2023, 1200 block of Gallatin St. NE, around 11:30 a.m.

Police investigating burglary at Silver Spring KFC-Taco Bell

Additionally, police said Washington faces charges of Receiving Stolen Property and Resisting Arrest.
