The car — a white Jeep SUV — was stolen around 6 p.m. from the 3000 block of M St. in Northwest, D.C. The baby girl was still strapped into her car seat when the Jeep was stolen.

MPD posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, around 7:10 p.m. that the baby was found safely.

She was left on 28th St. in Southeast, D.C. which was around five miles away from where the car was stolen, according to MPD.

In a news conference, MPD said a homeowner on 28th St. said someone knocked on their door and when they came outside, they found the baby in a car seat. They then ran out and got an officer.

MPD was still looking for the Jeep and the suspects involved.
