This year DC is also releasing a few other books celebrating their queer characters and important queer milestones in the comic. One is The DC Book of Pride by Jadzia Axelrod, a new character encyclopedia that will help fans “discover the rich history of DC’s LGBTQIA+ superheroes” with “detailed character profiles and comic book artwork.” Featuring profiles of over 50 queer characters including Harley Quinn, Jon Kent, Nubia, Tim Drake, Batwoman, Dreamer, Aquaman, and Circuit Breaker, The DC Book of Pride comes out May 16.

Another is DC Pride: Through the Years #1, which will reprint three groundbreaking out-of-print comics that introduced some of DC’s most iconic queer characters. It contains reprints of The Flash #53, in which villain turned hero Pied Piper comes out to The Flash and teams up with him; Detective Comics #854, which launched Batwoman’s first solo series; and Supergirl #19, which introduced Lee Serrano, a nonbinary teen who befriends the Girl of Steel. It also includes an all-new story about Alan Scott Green Lantern.
