DCH Family Medicine Dallas Center holds ribbon cutting ceremony
The Adel Chamber of Commerce and Dallas Center Betterment Foundation helped cut the ribbon at DCH Family Medicine Dallas Center on Friday, July 28.
Dallas County Hospital acquired Broadlawns Dallas Center Clinic and transitioned to DCH Family Medicine Dallas Center on July 3. Friday's ribbon cutting and lunch party were held to celebrate the transition.
“Dallas Center has been a place that we have been looking at for awhile now,” Dr. Eric Ash said before the ribbon was cut. “With Dallas County Hospital, we’re trying to expand our footprint in the county and expand more care to the residents in Dallas County and this is something we’ve been looking forward to.”
Dallas County Hospital CEO Angela Mortoza thanked the Dallas Center community for a warm welcome.
“When we first acquired the clinic, (we) went around to businesses and I can’t believe how welcoming people were and appreciative, so we’re very excited to be here,” Mortoza said.
A previous news release said Dr. Nick Palmer will act as medical director of DCH Family Medicine Dallas Center. He will spend the majority of his time seeing patients in Perry and right now, will see patients at the Dallas Center clinic on Fridays.
Dr. Palmer will be a second-generation provider in Dallas Center with his father previously practicing medicine here and mother employed in the office.
“I’m just really excited about being a part of the community,” Dr. Palmer said on Friday.
Sheri Schroeder has been the physician assistant at the Dallas Center clinic for the past 18 years. She has joined the DCH team and will continue to see patients at the clinic.
“When I joined back in 2005 with Dr. McHose, I was so hopeful it was going to be a great partnership and it truly has,” Schroeder said. “I fell in love with the clinic then and the type of care we provide and the personal touch that we provide has just been so great. Going forward, I’m thrilled that we’re going to partner with Dallas County Hospital.”
Scott Gustafson, with Dallas Center Betterment Foundation, said the clinic has been a fixture in Dallas Center for many years. He added that it was a natural fit for the clinic to now be a part of the Dallas County Hospital network.
“Having this facility close by makes it easy for families and those moving into the area to find good, accessible health care for all of their loved ones,” said Jason Urban, chair of the Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce Board. “We’re really excited to have this facility here in Dallas Center.”
