DC's Legends of Tomorrow fans might have to wait until 2020 for the return of the superhero series, but at least they can look forward to seeing Constantine again.

That's right – actor Matt Ryan will be a series regular when the show is back for its fifth season next January, TV Line reports.

Considering demon Neron was defeated in the season four finale last month, it wasn't a sure thing that the demonologist would be needed again.

But given the episode also teased a huge new threat on the horizon – for not just the Legends, but the world itself – the team could definitely do with Constantine's assistance once more.

Ryan first appeared as Constantine in Legends of Tomorrow for a few guest appearances during its third season, before being made a series regular for season four.

Showrunner Phil Klemmer also recently confirmed that Zari actress Tala Ashe will be returning – just not in the way you expect.

After Zari saved Nate and then vanished in the finale, Klemmer teased: "Tala will be returning to the show but Zari, the character we know and love, will not be.

"Nate is welcome to go look for her next season, but he will not be pleased by what he finds."

Poor Nate.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow returns for its fifth season in January 2020 on The CW in the US . It airs on Sky One in the UK.
