MARLBOROUGH — Leadership at Digital Federal Credit Union will look different in August, with Shruti Miyashiro set to take over for longtime CEO Jim Regan.

Miyashiro will take over as president and CEO while Regan eyes retirement this summer.

Regan will pass on his chair after 13 years as president and CEO, according to the board of directors.

His last day is set for July 31.

“(Regan)’s executive leadership, commitment and integrity have steered DCU to become one of the most successful and respected credit unions in the country,” said DCU Board Chairman Matthew Menning in a release.

Before becoming CEO, Regan was CFO at DCU for 14 years.

During his time, DCU’s assets doubled to $9.8 billion, membership increased by 165% and employment grew by 69%, according to the board.

He was a founding member of charitable foundation DCU for Kids.

Since 2005, the foundation has raised $22 million which they have donated to Autism Speaks, Special Olympics and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute among others, according to the board.

“(Regan) leaves a lasting legacy of service and innovation for DCU to build on moving into the future," said Menning in the release.

Miyashiro will take the chair as president and CEO Aug. 1.

To do so, she will herself leave the position of CEO.

Since 2007, she has led Orange County's Credit Union in California.

The credit union's assets are valued at $2.3 billion.

“I look forward to working with the talented team and board to ensure DCU’s strong foundation of providing members with service excellence and innovative financial solutions continues to thrive," said Miyashiro.

“With Shruti’s expertise, combined with our outstanding senior management and employee team and solid strategic framework, DCU is in an excellent position to continue to grow and thrive while delivering exceptional member value," said Menning in the release.
