Dead body found at a park in Lenoir: Police

LENOIR, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Police in Lenoir are investigating after they found a dead body near a park, according to the Lenoir Police Department.

Officers responded at the J.E. Broyhill Walking Park maintenance building around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday in response to someone who was unresponsive.

When officers arrived, they found 33-year-old Ervin Gene Bradshaw Jr. near a park maintenance shed on the backside of the property, officials said.

Caldwell County Emergency Services pronounced Bradshaw dead at the scene. The State Bureau of Investigation is looking into the circumstances of the death.

Although the investigation is ongoing, officials say there is no threat to the public and the park remained open.
