Dead man found in Peoria alley is believed to be a homicide, coroner says

PEORIA − The Peoria County coroner said police are considering the death of a man found in Peoria's North Valley to be a homicide.

Coroner Jamie Harwood said 66-year-old Kenneth Charles Bryant, who was reportedly homeless, died as a result of "multiple blunt force trauma injuries to his head and neck perpetrated by another." The cause of death is being investigated as a homicide, he said.

At 4:10 p.m Thursday, Peoria police were called to the 600 block of Northeast Adams Street regarding a man who was found dead in an alley. When they arrived, they found Bryant who was "obviously deceased and beyond help," Harwood said. He had injuries to face and head, according to police. He was pronounced dead at 4:51 p.m.
