Dead manatee washes ashore in New Smyrna Beach: report
Experts are investigating what led to the death of a manatee discovered Tuesday morning on New Smyrna Beach.
The manatee corpse was found washed up shore north of Beachway Avenue Beach Approach, according to a report by WESH.
No exterior trauma was apparent on the animal, but a different story might be told judging on the manatee’s insides, WESH reported.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will make the decision on whether or not a necropsy will be performed on the animal.
