Deadline Tuesday to request absentee ballot; last week of early voting for May 2 primary
The deadline to request an absentee ballot for the May 2 primary election is Tuesday night, and this week is the last for early in-person voting at your county board of elections.
Applications to vote by absentee ballot must be received by your county board of elections by 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Registered voters who wish to vote absentee must use the absentee ballot request form available on the Ohio Secretary of State website (Form 11-A) or provided to you by your county board of elections to apply for an absentee ballot.
Because you've waited late in the game to decide to vote absentee, you are most likely going to have to go to your county board of elections to obtain an absentee ballot request or pay extra to have the Postal Service deliver the request next-day service to meet the Tuesday deadline.

Once you get your absentee ballot and fill it out, it must be mailed postmarked by May 1. Absentee ballots may also be left in special ballot boxes outside your county board of elections or you can personally deliver them there by 7:30 p.m. May 2.

Early voting hours for the May 2 primary
Early voting hours at your county board of elections office are:
Monday: 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday: 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Wednesday through Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Next Sunday, April 30: 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Polls will be open for in-person voting for the May 2 primary election from 6:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
