Deadline underway to register for 36th annul Sculpture Celebration

Aug. 17—LENOIR — The Caldwell Arts Council invites sculptors to enter up to three works at its 36th annual Sculpture Celebration.

The competition is scheduled from 9 a.m. — 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022 at the Broyhill Walking Park in Lenoir, North Carolina. The event will be judged by John D. Powers and offers $11,000 in cash awards along with potential sales and commissions. In addition, large-scale works can be entered for a second exhibition and sales opportunity at the Western NC Sculpture Center & Park.

Pre-registration is $80 with a deadline of Sept. 7, 2022. No on-site registration will be held this year.

The annual family-friendly event attracts sculptors, buyers, and art fans from the eastern United States, with previous attendance as high as 4,000 people. It is funded in part by generous sponsors and by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
