Deadly Escambia County stabbing resulted from self-defense: Sheriff’s Office

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A 38-year-old man is dead after being stabbed in self-defense by his mother’s boyfriend Friday, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

The ECSO posted the updated information about the stabbing on their Facebook page Monday.

Deputies said they were called to south 66th Avenue Friday for a report of a cutting victim. When they arrived, deputies found that a 71-year-old mother and her son had gotten into an argument.


At that time, the son grabbed a knife and began cutting himself, according to ECSO.

Deputies said the mother attempted to stop her son and was injured in the scuffle.

Her boyfriend, a 68-year-old, was present when the scuffle took place and tried to help.

According to deputies, that’s when the son turned his aggression toward the man while still holding the knife.

The man then stabbed the son as an act of self-defense.

The son died from his stab wound.
