Police investigating hit-and-run after woman killed in Mount Holly
Mount Holly Police confirmed a person was hit and killed Monday morning on West Central Avenue, and the driver fled the scene.
Around 6:30 a.m., police responded to the site on West Central Avenue and shut down the road from Kendrick to Hawthorne to conduct the investigation.
One woman who spoke with Channel 9′s Almiya White said she was driving to work when she saw a body in the left lane.

According to her husband, Bill Black, she had just left their home in Mount Holly when she came right back.
“I see her backing down West Central Avenue. She comes in the drive and says there is a dead body in the road – and she is crying,” Black said.
He said he didn’t believe her at first and walked to the scene himself.

“I said no, it’s got to be a deer or something. Well, I walked out there, and it was not a deer,” Black remembered.
He says the road has a history of speedy drivers, and he fears the driver in this incident was going faster than legally posted.
“We’re looking at like 60 to 80 miles an hour in this straight away,” Black says. “People walk their dogs, their children, they ride your bike. There’s constantly somebody on this road, but it slows nobody down.”
Amanda Lynn Frisbee, 42, was identified as the victim.
