In a deadly month for aviation, another plane crashes in Florida. Here's what we know

Another plane crashed in Florida early this morning.

It's at least the third plane crash this month in the state.

The most recent crash happened when a plane went down into woods northwest of DeLand, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office. The pilot, who was the only occupant of the plane, was able to walk away with minor injuries.

A Bombardier Challenger 600 jet crashed on southbound Interstate 75 shortly after 3 p.m. Feb. 9 after the pilot reported a dual engine failure to the Naples airport. Two people were killed in the crash.

On Feb. 1, Three people were killed after a plane crashed into a mobile home park in Clearwater.

Pilot walks away from plane crash near DeLand

A Cessna 172 lost power and crashed into the woods off Marsh Road in Lake George State Forest northwest of DeLand, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

"The pilot was able to walk away from the plane reporting minor injuries. He indicated he was the only occupant."

The NTSB/FAA has been notified.

Plane crashes onto I-75, 2 killed

On Feb. 9 a Bombardier Challenger 600-series jet crash-landed on the southbound side of I-75 outside of Naples, just north of the highway's eastern turn, which runs along the area known as Alligator Alley.

The plane hit an SUV and a truck; the drivers and passengers in those vehicles survived.

Five were onboard the jet: a pilot, copilot, a crew member and two passengers.

The pilot and co-pilot were killed. The Collier County Sheriff's Office identified the dead as pilot Edward Daniel Murphy, 50, of Oakland Park, and Ian Fredrick Hoffman, 65, of Pompano Beach.

The Hop-A-Jet plane was coming from Columbus, Ohio, to the Naples Airport and scheduled for departure to Fort Lauderdale, said Robin King, the director of communication with The Naples Airport Authority.

Plane goes down in mobile home park, 3 killed

Three people were confirmed killed after a plane crashed into a mobile home park in Clearwater Feb. 1.

The pilot reported an engine failure prior to the fiery crash, which was about three miles from the nearest runway.

The single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza V35 crashed about an hour after taking off from Vero Beach Municipal Airport.

The plane was found in one of the homes, according to Clearwater Fire Chief Scott Ehlers. and four mobile homes caught fire in the Bayside Waters mobile home park after the crash.

The Federal Aviation Administration's preliminary incident report said fatalities included the pilot and two people on the ground. The pilot was the only person on board the aircraft, the FAA said.

Officials identified the victims as 86-year-old Martha Parry, a resident of one of the mobile homes destroyed in the crash; 54-year-old Mary Ellen Pender, of Treasure Island, who was visiting Parry; and pilot Jemin Patel, 54, of Melbourne Beach.

    • Aircraft declared an emergency due to engine issues and landed in a field.

  • Feb. 13: Melbourne

    • Aircraft taxiing and struck a runway light.

  • Feb. 11: Hollywood

    • Aircraft landed gear up.

  • Feb. 10: Naples, 2 killed

    • Aircraft experienced engine issues, crashed, hitting two vehicles on the road. Post crash fire.

  • Feb. 9: Tallahassee

    • Aircraft landed gear up.

  • Feb. 8: Hollywood

    • Aircraft landed and main gear collapsed.

  • Feb. 7: Orlando

    • Aircraft landed, skirted the right side of the grass and re-entered the runway.

  • Feb. 7: West Palm Beach

    • Aircraft landed and veered off runway. Main gear collapsed.

  • Feb. 5: Pompano Beach

    • Aircraft experienced engine issues and made an emergency landing on a road.

  • Feb. 2: Sarasota

    • Aircraft landed with nose gear retracted.

  • Feb. 1: St. Petersburg, 3 killed

    • Aircraft crashed under unknown circumstances into mobile home park. Post crash fire.

  • Feb. 1: Daytona Beach

    • Aircraft experienced a flat tire on landing and veered off runway into grass.
