Deadpool 2 star Zazie Beetz denies returning for MCU sequel

Zazie Beetz has confirmed she won't be returning as Domino in the hotly anticipated Deadpool 3.
Slated for a 2024 release, the upcoming superhero outing marks Ryan Reynolds official MCU debut as Wade Wilson/Deadpool. But it seems that the Merc with a Mouth won't share some action-packed missions with Domino this time around.
Beetz gave the disappointing update when discussing Deadpool 3 going ahead amid the ongoing writers' strike. She was asked about Reynolds' penchant for ad-lib given that any change to locked scripts is not possible without a writer on set.

"Well, I'm actually not in Deadpool 3, so I don't know what they're doing [about improvisation]," the actress told Decider at this year's Tribeca Film Festival.
"I'm assuming they're probably taking a pause... I'm excited to watch it," she added.
Beetz had previously shared hopes of returning as Domino, hinting at discussions happening around her return, though an official comeback was never announced.
"Well, I can't, obviously, really say anything, but I feel lucky. I just can't really divulge or say anything, so we'll see, I suppose," she told The Hollywood Reporter in August last year.

While Beetz won't appear in the third movie, Morena Baccarin is back as Wade's fiancé Vanessa, with Hugh Jackman also reprising the role of Wolverine. Stefan Kapičić, Leslie Uggams and Karan Soni are also returning from previous films.
Among the MCU newcomers joining Reynolds' foulmouthed antihero are Succession's Matthew Macfadyen and The Crown's Emma Corrin, with the latter playing an undisclosed villain role.
Deadpool and Deadpool 2 are streaming on Disney+, and also available on digital download, DVD and Blu-ray. Deadpool 3, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, has a release date of September 6, 2024.
