Deaf Woman Hears Boyfriend’s Voice For First Time As He Proposes
Andrea Diaz hasn’t able to hear properly her entire life, so getting fitted with cochlear implants and gaining one of her five senses as a fully grown adult was a pretty big deal.
In a moving video Miss Diaz giggles at the sound of her boyfriends voice, “it sounds funny,” she says, giddy with sensory overload.
As if hearing the sound of your own voice and the world around you for the first time wasn’t overwhelming enough, this young lady was stunned when her boyfriend got down on one knee right there in the surgery.
“I love you so much and you’re my best friend, baby,” Kevin Peakman says. “I wanted to make the first thing you hear me asking you to marry me.”
A tearful Miss Diaz accepts and the pair share an emotional embrace.
Miss Diaz wipes the tears from her eyes, “so much is going on,” she gasps, happily.
