Dealerships Donate $100K To Salvation Army For Disaster Relief

BAY AREA, CA — Price Simms Family Dealership Group made a donation of $100,000 to The Salvation Army to support the nonprofit's disaster relief efforts in the North, South and East Bays in Northern California.

Part of the monetary gift will be put toward The Salvation Army of Napa and The Suisun City Salvation Army Kroc Center, according to Samantha Jarosz, a spokeswoman for The Salvation Army in Northern California.

In Napa, The Salvation Army Napa Valley Culinary Training Academy has helped provide meals to wildfire evacuees, first responders and those struggling to make ends meet due to the coronavirus for more than 200 consecutive days. At the height of the recent wildfires, the academy provided more than 4,000 meals per day, Jarosz said.

In Solano County, The Kroc Center crew responds at a moment’s notice to wildfires and spot fires. During the LNU Lightning Complex Fire in August, the nonprofit served first responders on the front lines.

"The Salvation Army is on the ground before, during and long after a disaster," Jarosz said. "They are part of the communities in which they serve. This amazing gift will help the nonprofit serve those who lost everything in recent wildfires and ensure The Salvation Army is ready to respond to the next disaster."

Those behind the family-owned and locally operated business — which includes Toyota Walnut Creek, Toyota Sunnyvale, Toyota Marin, Los Gatos Luxury Cars, The Luxury Collection Walnut Creek, Marin Luxury Cars, Polestar Marin, Polestar San Jose, Mercedes Benz of Fairfield, Ford Fairfield, McLaren San Francisco and Volvo Palo Alto — hope their gift will inspire others to step up and give to The Salvation Army and their community.

"The Price Simms Family dealerships are committed to providing value, integrity, and trust to the communities we serve," said Adam Simms, CEO Price Simms Family Dealerships. "We are so happy to support the Salvation Army in the work they do across the Bay Area."

Through the support of the Price Simms Family Dealership Group, The Salvation Army said its critical mission during disasters will continue.

"Unfortunately, these disasters have become way too familiar in the past few years," said Major Ivan Wild, Salvation Army Divisional Commander. "It has been a drain on our resources but thanks to this generous support we can continue meet the need.
