Dean Marlowe, Jason Cabinda among Detroit Lions inactives vs. LA Rams

INGLEWOOD, Ca. — Dan Campbell promised lineup changes this week, and the Detroit Lions are making one in their defensive secondary.

Veteran Dean Marlowe, who played 33 snaps in last week's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals and had been part of a three-safety rotation much of the season, is inactive for the Lions' game against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Lions activated Jalen Elliott from the practice squad to play in Marlowe's place.

Fullback Jason Cabinda, who was questionable to play with a hip injury, also is inactive.

Campbell said this week he intended to shake up the Lions' depth chart and practice routine in hopes of sparking his 0-6 team. The Lions have not scored a first-half touchdown in their past four games are are 15-plus-point underdogs against a Rams team led by their former quarterback, Matthew Stafford.

Receiver Trinity Benson, acquired in a September trade with the Denver Broncos, is inactive for the second straight week, as are running back Jermar Jefferson, cornerback Mark Gilbert, defensive end Eric Banks and linebacker Jessie Lemonier.

Stafford chatted briefly with Lions president Rod Wood before Sunday's game, and Stafford's wife, Kelly, spent more than 10 minutes talking on the Lions sideline with owner Sheila Ford Hamp and her husband, Steve.
