Discovering she'd won a $1 million Powerball prize took an 80-year-old Dearborn woman's breath away.

Carolyn Geiss purchased a ticket that matched the five white balls drawn Oct. 26 —19-36-37-46-56, according to the Michigan Lottery.

“I like playing all kinds of Lottery games, and Powerball is one of my favorites,” Geiss told the Michigan Lottery. “I checked the winning numbers as soon as they were posted and when I saw I’d matched five numbers, it took my breath away! I have been playing the Lottery since it began, and it feels great to win big.”

She purchased her ticket at Charaf Oil Inc., which is a Shell gas station.

She plans to use the money to take care of her family.
