Betty White died after suffering a stroke, according to the "Golden Girls" star's death certificate.

The document from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health lists White's cause of death as a cerebrovascular accident, TMZ first reported on Monday.

The cerebrovascular accident, the medical term for a stroke, happened six days before White died at 99 on Dec. 31. The legendary performer - who maintained a dedicated fanbase throughout her more than seven-decade career - was weeks away from her 100th birthday when she died at her Los Angeles home.

President Biden called the "Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "Hot in Cleveland" actor a "lovely lady" in remarks shortly after news of her death broke, while Jill Biden asked, "Who didn't love Betty White?"
