UPDATE: Death of Georgia 5-month-old under investigation

UPDATE:

On Sunday, February 4, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Donalsonville Police Department to assist with an investigation into the death of a five-month-old female child.

In their preliminary findings, At around 10 a.m., relatives of the child found her unresponsive in the living room of the residence, and the child was driven by family members to the Donalsonville Hospital Emergency Department.

Reports show that life-saving efforts were unsuccessful, and the child was pronounced dead by medical staff.

GBI agents and Donalsonville Police Department investigators are conducting interviews and reviewing evidence.

An autopsy is planned at the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.

DONALSONVILLE, GA (WDHN) — An investigation into the death of a 5-month-old is underway in Donalsonville by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The Seminole County Coroner told WDHN that agents are actively investigating the death of an infant, but no cause of death has been revealed.

It is currently unknown when the Georgia Bureau of Investigation became aware of the death or when the investigation was launched.
