Death in Paradise has announced another new actor who will be heading to the island of Saint Marie, as it continues to unveil a raft of series nine guest stars.

The BBC show has recruited Benidorm and Inside No 9 favourite Steve Pemberton, who will be playing a property developer called Neil Henderson.

Appearing in episode five, Neil will be "looking to expand his portfolio to Saint Marie"... and we're already getting a rather sinister vibe from him.

This isn't the only new BBC role that Pemberton has signed up to of late, with the actor just revealed as a member of the Killing Eve season three cast.

The star joins Death in Paradise alongside Samuel West (Mr Selfridge) and Elliot Cowan (Peaky Blinders), who will play the McCormack brothers in the new series.

Also on board are EastEnders stars Nina Wadia and Adrian Edmondson, as well as Sherlock's Louise Brealey.

Of course, the big casting for the next series is Ralf Little, who will take on the lead of new DI Neville Parker following the departure of Ardal O'Hanlon.

"It took less than 0.005 seconds to say yes to playing the new DI! How could I not?" Little previously said.

"Ardal has been wonderful in the last few series and to follow in his footsteps in a place as idyllic as Guadeloupe was a great honour and a dream come true. It is a joy to play Neville and I can't wait for viewers to see him in Paradise this series."

Death in Paradise airs on BBC One. You can also catch up on series 1-8 on Amazon Prime Video.
