Death in Paradise's Ralf Little has shared a season 13 update – and we won't find DI Neville Parker behind bars, despite some fan speculation.

Earlier this month, Little shared a behind-the-scenes Instagram clip of himself dressed as Neville inside the set's prison cell, which in turn was misinterpreted as a potential season 13 storyline teaser.

He's now clarified the situation, posting another video and writing: "It's time we addressed the jail cell rumours! #scandal #mysterysolved" alongside a recorded explainer.

"There was a lot of speculation saying, 'Why is Neville in a cell? Why? Could this be a spoiler?' or whatever..." Little said, before panning around a set packed with filming equipment, cast and crew.

"Let me explain. This is where the cast normally sits. So we sit here in between scenes. We've got fans on to try and keep us cool and stop us sweating, so that make-up doesn't have a terrible time.

"Through here is the police station... and through here are the cells," he continued, walking through the set with his phone.

"Now, a couple of years ago, I realised that in the cells, it's right next to the station where we actually shoot and it's much cooler, and there's a bed... But when we are shooting in the police station, this is my little spot.

"So no mystery, no spoilers. I'm just lazy! And this is where I hang out in between takes," he concluded, lying down on the bed and blowing a kiss to the camera.

Little previously said he would "totally" be up for crossing over with his Death in Paradise predecessors Kris Marshall and Sally Bretton in another spin-off series.

"Maybe there's going to be Death in the States, or Death in the Maldives would be quite nice," he teased.

Death in Paradise and its spin-off, Beyond Paradise, air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
